TED HANKEY SHIRT COMPETITION WINNER ANNOUNCED!
Maciej Chorbinski from Poland is the proud winner of the Ted Hankey shirt competition. Maciej is a huge Ted fan and was overwhelmed that his design was chosen by "The Count" himself.
The winning design is pictured here and will be worn by Ted in a televised tournament in the near future.
Ted said: "I was genuinely touched and impressed by the sheer amount of designs that were sent in and I had a great time reviewing every one before choosing the winner. Maciej's artwork captured everything I was looking for, and it will perfectly compliment my current wardrobe!".
Maciej will receive a signed set of Ted Hankey darts, a Blade 4 dartboard, a Ted Hankey Coffin Darts Case and 2 tickets to the final of the 2012 Winmau World Masters. As an extra special thank you, Ted has agreed to produce one extra shirt that will be sent to Maciej in recognition of his great concept.
Winmau and Ted would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who entered a design.
TRINA GULLIVER - 50 NOT OUT!
Winmau's Trina Gulliver was presented with an award from England Manager, Peter Melton at the 2012 BDO British Internationals for creating darts history by becoming the first female player to win 50 International Caps for representing England.
This is an incredible achievement, especially when you consider that it has only been in the past few seasons that the Ladies have had the opportunity to gain more caps in the Six Nations. The majority of Trina's matches have been awarded in the BDO British Internationals.
Whilst everyone in darts is aware of her incredible personal records, it is sometimes forgotten that she has such a fantastic record at International level. Including her matches in the 2012 BDO British Internationals, she has won 43 of her 51 matches for England.
When you add this to her awards at Europe Cup and World Cup level, she really has set the bar at a height that will be hard to beat in the future. However, knowing Trina she will want this to inspire other lady players now and in the years ahead.
She is a wonderful ambassador for women's darts and it without doubt a leader on and off the oche. She is a great Captain for England Ladies, supporting every single player who pulls on an England shirt.
As a nine times Lakeside Women's World Professional Champion and a five times Winmau World Masters Women's Champion, Trina has been setting records for many years and it is very fitting that she now becomes the first female player to achieve this outstanding achievement.
Undoubtedly, there are many more caps and records to come in the future.
THE KING OF BLING SIGNS WITH WINMAU!

Winmau, the world's leading darts brand, are delighted to announce the signing of Bobby "The King of Bling" George. Bobby is without doubt the most colourful, charismatic and entertaining player in the history of darts and he didn't even pick up a dart until he was 30 years of age!
The deal comes after a hugely successful and high-profile career for Bobby totalling over 35 years as both a player and an ever-present BBC commentator at the Lakeside World Championships (since 1999). Bobby is twice a Lakeside (Embassy) World Championship finalist and he is a World Darts Federation Europe Cup Winner, but his greatest achievement was winning the News of the World Championship in 1979. This was one of the hardest tournaments to win and Bobby did it in typical style - he is the only player to have won this prestigious title without dropping a single leg! He won the News of the World for the second time in 1986, and Bobby has proudly represented his country 26 times.
Bobby is a family man and a keen fisherman. He combines these 2 loves at his 18 bedroom mansion George Hall - he lives with his wife Marie and his 2 sons Robert and Richie (the latter being a great up and coming dart player in his own right) and also has 3 fishing lakes on his property!
"This is very exciting for us," said Ian Flack, Sales and Marketing Director of Winmau. "Bobby is one of the most famous and instantly recognisable darts players of all time. His unique style and image is known amongst dart players and non-dart players alike, and he resonates with people from all walks of life. We are developing a range of Bobby George darts equipment, which will be available throughout our global distribution channels."
Bobby added: "I am delighted to be re-joining Winmau. I was very much involved with the company many moons ago and it feels like I've come home! I have always championed their reputation as the finest quality darts manufacturer in the world and I have always used Winmau dartboards. In fact, I helped to develop the original Blade board that was launched back in 1997."
Bobby writes the ever popular Bobby's Blog in Darts World Magazine, he is the Marketing Advisor to the England Darts Organisation and he has his own website at:

The Winmau Essex Open Championship 2012 will take place at Colchester United Football Club on the 26th of February 2012 and will be played exclusively on the Blade 4 dartboard.
The Essex Open always receives a huge number of entrants, as it carries a good prize fund, is BDO ranked and is promoted in partnership with Colchester United F.C. at The Weston Homes Community Stadium (which is one of the UK's most modern darts venues). The 2011 event did not disappoint as, after eight hours of darts involving over 300 players, the tournament ended up being decided on one leg of darts, and was won by England International Steve Douglas.
The men and women go head-to-head in a best of 5 legs 501, straight start and double finish. Winmau and its retail partner Powerdarts are delighted to announce the signing of Lincolnshire County's Craig Barratt.
Craig is one of the rising young stars on the County circuit and has only been playing darts for 4 years. His short career has already seen him crowned Nottinghamshire Open Champion 2011 and he had an impressive run in the 2011 Winmau World Masters reaching the last 64.
Winmau was made aware of Craig's talent by Lee Dovey of Powerdarts, and Lee felt that Craig would benefit greatly from a partnership with the world's leading darts brand. WHITLOCK INJURY PUTS HIM OUT OF THE GRANDSLAM
SIMON WHITLOCK has withdrawn from the William Hill Grand Slam of Darts following an operation on a broken bone in his ankle.
The Australian was injured when he slipped last weekend during the Spanish Darts Trophy Players Championships in Benidorm.
Having initially withdrawn from Sunday's event in Spain, further tests revealed a broken bone in the joint which required minor surgery.
Whitlock, a two-time Grand Slam of Darts quarter-finalist, has now pulled out of the nine-day tournament in Wolverhampton, which begins on Saturday November 12.
"I'm extremely disappointed to be missing Wolverhampton, but I'll be watching with the fans" said Whitlock, the 2010 World Championship runner-up.

TRINA GULLIVER'S 13 YEAR LOVE AFFAIR WITH WINMAU CONTINUES!
Trina Gulliver, the greatest female darts player of all time, has signed a new contract with the world's leading darts brand Winmau. Trina will continue to represent the Winmau brand until 2015 and both parties are delighted to reaffirm their commitment to a partnership that, for the last thirteen years, has seen Trina lift nine World Championship titles, five Winmau World Masters crowns and countless other major honours. This unparalleled list of achievements ranks Trina as one of the greatest names in the history of darts.
The last 13 years has seen Trina lead a revolution in ladies darts, and her partnership with Winmau has been an enormous plus for the ladies game. Her profile and her drive to succeed, year after year, has been a key reason for the resurgence in the women's game. During The Golden Girl's tenure at the top of the game, the prize money and the interest in women's darts has increased dramatically; benefiting not just herself but the entire sport.
In Golden Girl: The Autobiography of the Greatest Ever Ladies Darts Player there are vivid tales of how Trina threw her first darts standing on a stool in her parents pub as a two year old. Her dedication to tungsten clearly started early, but it was an interest in other metals, and indeed wood, that saw Trina devote herself to a life of woodwork and joinery.
In her teens she constructed greenhouses and chairs from plywood before gaining work experience at a building firm. Trina showed the dogged determination in this role that she displays in every aspect of her life. After three years of woodwork classes she qualified as a carpenter/joiner and, in typical Trina fashion, she was fighting the odds - she became a carpenter despite being allergic to certain types of wood! Despite her love of carpentry, Trina was destined for a life of competition - she played football, sprinting, netball and javelin to county level.
Playing darts in the early days was never easy. The Golden Girl would work 12 hour shifts as a carpenter and still find time to dedicate to her darts passion. By 1988 she was one of the best ladies darts players around. She played county darts for Warwickshire and was capped by England in 1994. However, this was not a sufficient challenge for Trina; she entered the Super League darts against male opponents and won her first four matches. It wasn't her only success against the opposite sex - she came 12th out of 20 male players in the 2001 Pentathlon. She was well on her way to conquering the game.
Since the inception of the Lakeside Women's World Championship in 2001, Trina has reached every final; an achievement unparalleled in darts. Indeed she has only lost the final on two occasions. Trina's achievements were recognised in 2003 when she was named as the BBC Midlands Sports Personality of the Year.
Trina said "Winmau have been the most loyal, supportive and understanding company to work with. It is true to say that, without their help over the years, I wouldn't have achieved so much both on and off the oche. They make me feel so welcome as part of the team and the quality of their darts equipment has undoubtedly been a big boost to my career".
Winmau has supported Trina for 13 years and she is a personal friend of all that work for the darts giant. Ian Flack, Sales and Marketing Director, said: "This new extension to our partnership with Trina will yield even more success for the greatest ever ladies darts player. Trina is an icon in the sport of darts; her phenomenal achievements are a testament to that. But there is one worrying thing for her opponents: With this new agreement and her unwavering focus, Trina Gulliver's best days are still ahead of her!".

SCOTT WAITES WINS WINMAU WORLD MASTERS 2011
Scotty "2 Hotty" Waites claimed his second Major title in an all Yorkshire Winmau world Masters final, when he beat Dean Winstanley by 7 - 2. Yorkshires best ranked darts players, Scott Waites (No.4 Seed) and Dean Winstanley (No.2 Seed) were perfect opponents for the event that was held in Yorkshire.
The in-form Waites produced a 180 in the opening leg to make his intentions clear as he won the first set by 2-0 in legs, and then followed up with the second set. Dean took the next to make it 2-1 as both players produced excellent scoring. Scott then took the next to take him into the break at a commanding 3-1 in sets. After the break Scott took the opening set with the aid of yet another 180. And then a 61 checkout for the next and a commanding 4-1 lead. Dean hit a 180 in the deciding leg of the 6th set, and Scott did the same, but Dean was back in business with a 140 checkout to make it 4-2, before Scott came back to make it 5-2 and just two away from victory and even closer when he went 6-2 up at the second break.
Scott opened with back to back 180's in the first leg after the break to be on another possible 9-darter, sadly it didn't happen but he won the leg and then opened the next with yet another 180 and then finished in style with a magnificent 161 checkout to become 2011 Winmau World Masters Champion, and fittingly so because he was the in-form player throughout the whole tournament and a truly deserved 2011 Winmau Masters Champion.
Scott took the Masters to a breathtaking level of high scoring and big checkouts.
He scored six 180's and his checkouts were 102, 138 and 161 to win the title.
His single dart average in the final was 33.54 and Dean's was a very respectable 31.95.
WORLD NUMBER 1 DEAN WINSTANLEY JOINS WINMAU
Winmau are delighted to announce the signing of one of the biggest names in darts - Dean "Over The Top" Winstanley. Dean, current World Darts Federation number 1 ranked player and recent Winmau British Classic Winner, will work closely with Winmau's engineers to create his new set of signature darts.
The in-form Yorkshire based star will make his debut as a Winmau player at the ESPN televised Winmau World Masters in September. Dean had a tremendous run in last year's event reaching the quarter-finals and, on the back of a superb 12 months on the circuit, he is ranked the number 2 seed for the 2011 Masters.
Simon Hall, Head of Marketing for Winmau, was delighted to have Dean on board. He said : "Dean is easily one of the best players in the game at the moment, and it is a real honour to have a player of his drive and determination represent our company".
Dean joins Winmau's illustrious team of darts superstars and said "I am really happy to have signed with Winmau, as I've played on Winmau dartboards for over 15 years and they are the best on the market. The Winmau World Masters is one of my favourite events and I'd love nothing more than to win the tournament as a Winmau sponsored player. Hopefully I can then follow that up with my first Lakeside world title after my final appearance this year!".
Dean will be working alongside Winmau's Research and Development Department to create his own signature range of match weighed darts that will feature Winmau's class leading technology in tungsten production.
